Do I use it and make a few cents per click; or do I just go for affiliate sales, which come less often but make per sale?

And really, people have been asking this for the last few years…

Of course, there are some people that swear by it, and I’m sure people like this adsense warrior, who found a way to make $300 daily with adsense (check it out, a lot of Free info given), would tell you that you CAN indeed make a living with Adsense.

And I have no doubt in my mind that you can.

But, again, there are other people who can’t seem to make more than a few bucks a day with Adsense, and there for don’t even try. They’ll tell you to go straight for the sale, so you can more than recoup those lost few clicks…

So which is right? Adsense or not?

The Bottom Line is this:

It really doesn’t matter. In fact, overall what DOES matter is what YOU want to do.

If you have a real passion to make Adsense work, then do it. There are people like Jeff Johnson, and Joel Comm, who make hundreds ~ thousands of dollars A DAY with Adsense.

How is it possible? Well, because they focused their efforts on making it profitable, found a method that works for them, and then scaled it up.

And yes it is harder to win with EITHER; if you don’t have them setup right. Because more than likely, people will click the Adsense ad over the affiliate link… Thus wasting your efforts on affiliate marketing.

And it makes, sense; seeing as how we live in a “do it now” society with the attention spans of garden gnomes….

But today I’ve got a sweet 3 step method for you that you can use, right away and hopefully see some money rollin’ in. This method is actually developed by my buddy Kevin Wilke, of Instant Online Income. So here goes:

Step 1. Find a skill that you’re good at.

When we get introduced to the wonderful world of internet marketing, we discover quite quickly how many thousands (seemingly) of skills we need to master in order to make some real profit like:

• Email Marketing
• ppc
• Seo
• Getting Traffic
• Copywriting
• And so on…

Well, as the weeks, and then months go by, you hopefully start to see where you strengths and weaknesses lie. For example: I’m a terrible copywriter, but I can get ranked, and can blog pretty well.

So I leave the copywriting to the professionals, and just focus on free traffic methods.

You should definitely find what you seem to do the best, or if anything what you like to do, and then build that skill up.

Step 2. Start Applying that Skill

Once you’ve decided on a great skill, then you’ll want to put that bad into action. Start really using it.

And not just in your own business start trying it out for other people. If it works out for both you AND Them, then you know that you can make serious money with it.

Continue to perfect and practice your skill.

Step 3. Find people who need your skill and Sell it to them.

This is probably the biggest challenge to most people. Finding people.

But there are lots of ways, including visiting forums, google search and networking sites and events.

By following this simple outline, you can really start making money faster than ever, and enjoy doing it as well.

So through testing, it seems that SEO, with Google to say the least, is getting harder and harder. What worked just a few short months ago, doesn’t work any longer…

Meaning more work, and finding new strategies – all the time.

And it sucks, honestly. Because you always need to stay ahead of the game in order to win.

But here a few things that I’ve seen stay pretty consistent over the last couple years, so feel free to use these tips.

1. Backlinks rule. The major factor that decides your place in the rankings is backlinks. There are other factors, but BL’s (for short) are the biggest factor. And not just the amount, what kind. 5 PR3 links *Can* be better than 25 PR) & PR1 links.

But all legitimate links are good in and of themselves. By legitimate, I simply mean no site that Google will ban, sandbox or blacklist; like many sites that will harm your computer or sites that deal with Pron, gambling and so on. Regular sites are ok. Really backlinks are the name of the game. Why? becasue you can only do so much on page SEO…

2. Anchor Text. This is the text you use when you link to another site. The anchor text is so the “Big G” knows what relationship your site has with another and vice versa. It also shows Google what term to rank you for in the SERP’s. If you need to, read more about anchor text on our IM dictionary page.

Anchor text basically goes in conjunction with backlinks. When you create your backlinks, be sure to use good anchor text, based on the keywords you want to rank for.

3. Page header. Basically, this is the header text that loads when the page does. You can usually read the header at the top of your browser when you visit any given page.

When Google (and other search engines) visit your page, it loads this header, and they figure that whatever the header says, the rest of the content will match. When it ranks you in its listings, it generally uses this header text as your anchor text in its listings.

It’s good to have a header that matches the content of the page, then as Google goes along, it will see that your text matches the header.

4. Unique Content is best, but… …You can get away with duplicate content at times. I, myself, use duplicate content sometimes (not usually on this site, but others) and Google WILL rank it. Really, the biggest determining factor to what Google will show is this: Authority. If your site is new, has no backlinks and very little content, Google will probably overlook you, simply because you’re not worth their time – yet. But build up time, backlinks, and content, and Google will eventually start to place you in their rankings eventually.

But as always, unique content is the best way to go. How can Google punish you for your own content? If anything, use both. Create unique content and spruce up your duplicate content somehow.

There are more probably, but that’s it for now. Keep these things in mind, and as always, leave your own comments, ideas and suggestions below…

Anchor Text – The text used when linking from one site to another. The Anchor text is the words that are hyperlinked. Ex. Google Nemesis Review – In this example, the words “Google Nemesis Review” are the anchor text or anchor keywords used. It is important to link to sites using good anchor text to improve rankings. Unless you creating a call to action”, then you simply want to tell them to do some thing  in the link.

B

Backlinks – Links from one site to another. Ex. A backlink to your site would be a link from another site to yours. BL’s (for short) are an important to ranking well in Google.

C

Call to Action (CTA) – A call to action is simply telling the reader (viewer) to do something. Ex. “Click Here to Download your Free Report” is an example of a call to action. In order to create an effective CTA, be sure to use a specific command, and tell them exactly what you want them to do.

S

SEO – (Search Engine Optimization) – Creating your content with the sole purpose of getting it ranked in the search engines; namely Google. Instead of simply creating content, you “optimize it” in order to get an edge in the SERP’s or search engine listings.

SERPs – (Search Engine Ranking Pages) – These are the pages that are displayed when any given term is searched for in a search engine.

Look, whether you’re at home (hard at work), you’re doing the 9-5 thing or just hangin’ out today…

Do something fun. It’s proven (I think somewhere) that if you start your day off with something good, it sets the mood for the day…

So go do something will set your day (that won’t get you in trouble) like:

• Watching something funny…
• Reading something good…
• Or just talking to somebody…

And these two guys know what Wordpress is all about – leveraging these blogs for traffic like it’s freakin’ cool.

Especially with Alex Goad’s Google Conquest launch a while back, and Brian’s Commission Ritual and other wordpress-based launches. Alex is a great copy-writer, and Brian knows SEO better than most, so I respect both of them.

So when I heard that they were handing a free plugin, I was intrigued, and got myself a copy. The plugin itself is called “Deep Link Engine” (free traffic and link getting plugin) and here’s an overview of what it does:

**Automatically get backlinks to every post you make on your blogs.
**Get more traffic and higher rankings by just installing it once.
**Increase relevance and ranking power of each page with quality outbound links.
**Most links you get are “do follow”
**Automatically increase the relevant content for each post

Basically, what the software does is this:

Once it’s setup, you go write a post. While writing the post, you can search the plugin for tags, and relevant blogs to ping. It will look for blogs that are already talking about your topic.

Then you publish your post. Once published, the post will have a list of links to other blogs that are relevant to your topic, and it will ping those sites. The pingback will lead back to your site.

Here’s My Take:

The upside is this: You get free backlinks from relevant blogs, talking about your topic. Sure the links are not dofollow all the time, but it is free traffic if anything.

The downside is this: If the comments are closed, or the pingback is denied – no link love for you. You are giving them a link for free. Also, people, knowing it is a pingback MAY NOT click on your link.

But my conclusion is this: If the site you ping has comments closed or doesn’t approve your pingback, simply delete them from your list of blogs. Easy as that.

Overall, I think the plugin is pretty useful, because Google likes to see links to relevant sources; other than yourself. I mean, if anything, just test it out for a week or two, and see what you think.
